YAIR RODRIGUEZ LANDS A NO-LOOK ELBOW AT THE BUZZER - MOST INSANE KNOCKOUT I'VE EVER SEEN

I’M SPEECHLESS, FOLKS. SPEECHLESS.

With one second left in one of the best fights of the year, Yair Rodriguez just threw a motherfucking back elbow behind his own motherfucking head without even seeing what he was doing with his motherfucking eyes and knocked the Korean Zombie out cold. I’m a MASSIVE Zombie fan, and if you’ve been reading my stuff for a while you know that, but this finish was so incredible that I COULD NOT GIVE A SHIT LESS THAT HE WAS FLATLINED, PLANKING ON THE GODDAMN MAT.

What Yair Rodriguez just did could legitimately be the greatest knockout in UFC history. Seriously. He threw a no-look elbow, with ONE SECOND LEFT IN THE ENTIRE FIGHT, and dedded the undead. I mean, homeboy is in The Matrix. There’s no other explanation.

I had Korean Zombie up 3-1 leading into the fifth, winning the first, third, and fourth rounds of the fight before that fateful elbow landed, but FUUUUUUUUCK man, how do we even talk about that fight right now? I’d say it was probably a top five, maybe top three professional mixed martial arts bout of the year, and it’s almost been overshadowed completely to the point where I don’t even know if it’s worth talking about. I mean, it’s 1:41am by the time I’m at this section of the blog, we’re a while past the knockout, and my heartrate hasn’t slowed, my hands are still shaking, I’m short of breath…I may never be the same ever again after witnessing that.

I may take up knitting to offset the excessive amounts of violence I just saw. I don’t know what I’m gonna do.

You know what? Let me sleep on it, and we’ll revisit the fight tomorrow. I’ll talk about how much I hate when fighters stop to hug mid-fight and all that jazz in a blog tomorrow. I’ll break down why I had Zombie up 3-1 as well, for ya. Get some sleep if you can, I can’t, but come back here tomorrow for some fight talk, and some Cerrone/Perry talk. Love yas.

Happy Birthday, UFC!!!
